West Virginia University has a strong tradition of success among its graduates. Alumni throughout the world have attained national and international success in their respective fields including science, technology, business, engineering and theater, among others.
To recognize these accomplishments, the WVU Alumni Association inducts successful graduates into the WVU Academy of Distinguished Alumni each year. The Association is currently accepting nominations for 2012.
Alumni can be nominated by general membership of the Alumni Association or by their respective schools or colleges. Nominees cannot be an employee of WVU, the WVU Alumni Association, or the WVU Foundation, Inc., but can be a member of the WVU Board of Governors, Foundation Board and other boards. Posthumous nominations are also accepted.
Nominations can be submitted electronically or by mailing a completed packet to the WVU Alumni Association, One Alumni Drive, P.O. Box 4269, Morgantown, WV 26504-4269, by 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18. Nomination packets should include: nomination form, letters of support, newspaper/magazine articles and other supporting materials.

The association created the academy in 1988 and is now celebrating its 25th year. Since its inception more than 80 graduates have been awarded this prestigious honor.
