“Beginnings” is the title of a fall concert by the West Virginia University Choral Area at the Creative Arts Center, featuring the Women’s Choir, University Choir and WVU Choral Union, along with faculty soloists.
The concert will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, at 3:15 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.
Faculty members Hope Keohler, soprano, and William Haller, organist, will perform at the concert, which will be conducted by interim choral director Jeffry Blake Johnson, and students Sara Nale and Daniel Kovacic.
“This concert offers something for everyone,” Johnson said. “There are a Bach cantata, a grand Bach organ piece played by Dr. Haller, spirituals, gospel songs, love songs, and two dramatic opera choruses, one of which features faculty soprano soloist Dr. Koehler.”
This is the first concert of the season by the WVU Choirs. Tickets are available at the CAC Box Office or by calling 304-293-SHOW (7469).
