Devanna Corley will join the West Virginia University Alumni Association as director of development and will oversee donor relations and fundraising efforts for the organization, including major/planned gifts, stewardship activities and the organization’s annual gift program.

Corley previously served as vice president of Institutional Advancement at Fairmont State University where she was responsible for managing the university’s fundraising initiatives, including coordinating annual giving activities, establishing the goals/vision of the office of Institutional Advancement in line with FSU’s strategic plan, and fostering relationship with graduates and friends of the institution.

“We are pleased to welcome Devanna to the Mountaineer family,” said Steve Douglas, president and CEO, WVU Alumni Association. “She brings a lot of energy, experience and enthusiasm to this position, and she will be a welcome addition to our team as we continue to extend the reach of the Association.”

From 2007 to 2010 Corley served as director of Alumni Relations and Sponsorship Activities. In that role, she managed multiple tasks including event planning and alumni board activities; developed multiple alumni organizations outside of North Central West Virginia; and effectively launched a sponsorship program for Homecoming and other alumni hosted events.

Corley earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing and management in 1996 and a Master of Business Administration in 2010, both from FSU.

She will assume her duties as director of development for the WVU Alumni Association effective Nov. 1.

Corley and her husband, Tony, reside in Fairmont with their children Brandon and Kayla.
