Dancers from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra “Ballroom with a Twist” concert, scheduled for Wednesday (Oct. 12), will present a dance master class for West Virginia University dance minors and local dancers that afternoon.

The master class will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre of the Creative Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The “Ballroom with a Twist” concert, with Marvin Hamlisch, features an astonishing lineup of dancers choreographed by Emmy-nominated Louis van Amstel from the hit TV show “Dancing with the Stars,” as well as dancers from “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”

“Ballroom with a Twist” is part of the Canady Symphony Series at WVU. The concert begins 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre at the Creative Arts Center.

The 2011-12 title sponsors of the Canady Symphony Series are William and Loulie Canady, in memory of their daughter Valerie.
