Neil Berch, associate professor of political science at West Virginia University, is available to provide commentary and insight on Tuesday’s special election for governor in West Virginia.

The election is between acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, Democrat; Bill Maloney, Republican; Bob Henry Baber, Mountain; Marla Ingels, Independent; and Harry Bertram, American Third Position.

Berch teaches courses in state and local politics, economic policy, and economic models of politics. His articles have appeared in American Politics Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly and Southeastern Political Science Review. Since 1997 he has served as coach of the University ’s nationally ranked Debate Team.
