Are you a student interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine?

If so, join the West Virginia University Davis-Michael Pre-Veterinary Scholars Program and the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association for the 2nd Annual Veterinary Career Day.

This educational event is scheduled for 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sat., Sept. 17, 2011, at The Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.

The program is set to include presentations from a variety of professionals in the field.

  • Veterinarians will offer insight on what their position entails professionally and what a typical “day” practicing veterinary medicine includes.
  • Representatives of several veterinary colleges will also be on-hand to introduce students to veterinary school and answer questions.
  • An overview of the West Virginia Veterinary School Contract system for West Virginia residents will also be presented.

The event is open to high school and college students interested in learning more about the field of veterinary medicine. Parents, high school teachers, counselors and college advisers are also welcome to attend.

Those with allergies should be aware that live animals may be a part of the day.

The program is free; however, if desired, lunch can be provided at the Alumni Center for a cost of $15. If you would like to participate, please fill out and submit the registration form found at http://simpleforms.scripts.wvu.edu/daviscollege/VetInfoDay2011/.

Registration forms must be completed and returned by Sept. 9, 2011 and will be limited to the first 150 forms received.
