West Virginia University’s Brown Bag Lunch Film and Discussion Series is drawing to a close for the spring semester with a discussion on orphans in Malawi, Africa.

The film “I Am Because We Are,” a 2008 documentary written by Madonna, will be shown on Thursday (April 28) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gluck Theatre of the Mountainlair.

The film documents the living conditions of one million orphans in Malawi, Africa. It will be presented by Megan Boone, president of the Mountaineers for International Disease Awareness. The film features interviews with former President Bill Clinton, Bishop Desmond Tuto, Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and leaders of relief and charitable organizations.

The event is free and open to the public. Pizza will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. The Brown Bag Lunch Film and Discussion Series is sponsored by the WVU Office of Multicultural Programs the Office of International and Global Outreach.
