West Virginia University Art and Design alumni Richard Gleason and Chris Jones, who are currently achieving great success in the design world, will return to Morgantown to present a visiting artist lecture at the Creative Arts Center on Thursday (April 7).

The presentation begins at 5 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) and is free and open to the public.

Richard Gleason, who graduated from WVU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design and printmaking in 2003, is a New York designer, photographer and art director. His clients include Jones Apparel Group (which includes Anne Klein and Rachel Roy lines), Ocean Star Apparel, Tommy Hilfiger, Surf/Bicycle/Run and other identity, web and print clients. His experimental typography and innovative photographic techniques result in sensational imagery.

Chris Jones, who graduated in 1994, is a partner in Mediaworks, LLC, and owner of Kidtropolis in Alexandria, Va. Mediaworks is an award-winning studio that works for E*TRADE, Johnson & Johnson, Comcast, AOL and Reuters, among others. Innovative projects from this versatile company have at times turned into businesses, such as Kidtropolis. Designing custom fantasy furniture and interiors for kids through teens has allowed Jones to mix his interest in sculpture and product design with functional environments.
