For the second year in a row, West Virginia University is participating in the nationally respected American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment.

A random sample of 8,000 students will be contacted through the MIX campus e-mail system and mail to complete the survey.

The confidential questionnaire asks about student health behaviors and should take about 20 minutes to complete.

The study assesses alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, sexual health, weight, nutrition, exercise, mental health and personal safety and violence.

Students are randomly selected to participate. Those who complete the survey are given the chance to win prizes including gift certificates and are entered into an iPad raffle.

The survey will provide WVU administration and staff with important findings about student health behaviors and attitudes in order to develop programs to better address student health needs.

Students that receive an e-mail inviting them to participate are highly encouraged to do so. This is a unique opportunity to play a role in making WVU a healthier, and better place to be.
