West Virginia University students who are looking for internships will get expert advice from Lauren Berger, the self-proclaimed “Intern Queen,” on Feb. 9 at the Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism.

Berger, the 25-year-old self-proclaimed “Intern Queen,” will visit 205 Martin Hall at 5 p.m. with a presentation about searching for and landing great internship opportunities.

As a student who had 15 internships in her four years of undergraduate study – including such top-notch companies as MTV, FOX, BWR Public Relations, and NBC – Berger earned her degree in organizational business communications from University of Central Florida.

Now the CEO of Intern Queen, Inc., Berger earned the number five spot on Business Week Magazine’s list of “Young Entrepreneurs: 25 under 25” and has been placed in the top ten “Youth Marketing Minds of 2010” by Mobile Youth. She has a weekly advice column with the Washington Post’s website and has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, E!News.com, Yahoo! Business, and more.

Intern Queen, Inc., is an online internship destination that helps students find and apply for internships and educate them on how to make the most of their experiences. The site was launched in June 2008 after Hollywood producer Marshall Herskovitz decided to invest in Berger’s start-up, which now reaches over 40,000 students, parents and employers each month. Berger facilitates connections between hundreds of students and some of the top internships in a variety of industries.

Please RSVP to this event no later than Feb. 7 by emailing Jason Broadwater at Jason.Broadwater@mail.wvu.edu.
