Allen P. Heath, a music student studying for a master’s degree in conducting at West Virginia University, will conduct the WVU Wind Symphony in a free concert at the Creative Arts Center, Friday (Jan. 21).
The concert, which also features the University Choir, begins at 6 p.m. in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre and is free and open to the public.
The program will include: “Canzon a 12” by Giovanni Gabrieli; “Magnificat” by Bladasarre Galuppi; “Octet for Wind Instruments” by Igor Stavinsky; “Nessun Dorma” from “Turandot” by Giacomo Puccini; and “Chester Overture for Band” by William Schumann.
