At West Virginia University, students are making sure that all local children have a happy holiday. The Student Government Association and Student Organizations Services collected financial and toy donations to benefit local children in need.

The toys, used to build a Toy Mountain in the Mountainlair, were donated to Christian Help and the Salvation Army where they will be distributed to children in the community.

On Saturday (Dec. 11), the financial donations were used to take local children shopping at Super K-Mart. While at the store, the children were able to pick presents for themselves, their siblings or parents. WVU student photographer Todd Latocha captured the gallery of joyful faces above.

The collections were part of WVU’s annual Students Helping Other People (SHOP) program.
