West Virginia University football fans are known to travel hundreds of miles to see the Mountaineers play in post season bowls. Until then, however, WVU is making it easy for Mountaineer Nation to connect with fellow followers and the team as it prepares for the Champs Sports Bowl against N.C. State at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando.

A new website, bowlgame.wvu.edu, allows fans to connect with all things Gold and Blue – from ticket information and travel packages to updates on the team and Bowl information and activities.

The site also features a Twitter feed, a place to leave a good luck message for the team, videos, access to WVU’s Facebook page, and links to Mountaineer Sports Network programming and the WVU Marching Band. There is also a link to WVU’s Mobile Web, m.wvu.edu, and WVU’s online news vehicle, wvutoday.wvu.edu.

A new feature this year is a way for fans to submit photos, videos and messages about what makes them a Mountaineer: Was there a special moment when being a Mountaineer clicked for you—like meeting your best friend or your spouse on campus; attending your first tailgate or football game; taking a class that got you hooked on your major or career path; participating in 4-H; or growing up watching Mountaineer sports?

WVU, 9-3 on the season and Big East Conference co-champs, is making its ninth straight bowl appearance.
