Bret Marks, an alumnus of West Virginia University’s College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, will present “Mountaineer to Engineer—Living the Dream,” at 3 p.m., Oct. 25 in room G102 of the Engineering Sciences Building. The lecture, part of the WVU CEMR Distinguished Lecturer Series, is free and open to the public.

Marks, program director of F/A-18 International Operations at Boeing Military Aircraft, has accumulated more than 26 years of engineering and program management experience and has held positions such as aerodynamicist, supplier manager, program manager, Global Strike Flight Systems Lead and Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft F/A-18 India Program Manager. He joined Boeing in 1984 and, in his current role, is responsible for leadership and execution of all program related to engineering, manufacturing, support and training, contracts and pricing and industrial participation efforts associated with the F/A-18 Super Hornet International campaigns.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from WVU and a Master of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Illinois.

He has published and presented a number of technical papers on advanced fighter aircraft control concepts, F/A-18 flight control system development and carrier suitability flight test evolution.
