The West Virginia University Safety and Health Extension service is offering the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) class #5600, “Disaster Site Worker Train-the-Trainer,” in Wilmington, Del., on Nov. 8-11.

The four-day course prepares experienced trainers to present OSHA’s 16-hour Disaster Site Worker course. Trainers are given the opportunity to practice knowledge, skills, and attitudes through discussion, planned exercises, demonstrations and presentations.

Prerequisites include OSHA courses #500 or #501, three years of safety training experience and completion of the 40-hour HAZWOPER training or equivalent.

Seating is limited and preregistration is required two weeks prior to the course start date. For priority registration, please sign up by Monday, Oct. 25, 2010. Tuition per person is $750.

Customized group training sessions are also available on a contractual basis for employers wishing to train their workforce.
