West Virginia University will show a “mockumentary” on the potentially catastrophic results that would occur if California-based Mexicans were to suddenly disappear.

Mexicans in California currently make up more than one-third of the state’s population. The film, “A Day Without a Mexican,” will be shown on Thursday (Oct. 21) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mountainlair Gluck Theater.

The film is being presented by the officers of the WVU chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin sorority on the occasion of Hispanic Heritage Month and WVU Diversity Week.

The Brown Bag Lunch Film and Discussion Series, sponsored by WVU’s Office of Student Life-Multicultural Program, is free and open to the public. Pizza will be provided first-come, first-serve.
