This October, vampires aren’t the only ones accepting blood donations.

West Virginia University’s Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers along with the National Research Center for Coal and Energy Wellness Committee are hosting an American Red Cross blood drive Tuesday, Oct. 19, from noon to 6 p.m.at the NRCCE.

All donors and volunteers will receive a free Chick-Fil-A coupon for a chicken sandwich. Please sign up to donate by visiting
http://www.givelife.org/index.cfm?group=registration&hlc=nrcce&hostlookupcode=nrcce.

Volunteers are also needed to help run the event throughout the day. To volunteer, contact John Wattick at jwattick@mix.wvu.edu.

The American Red Cross is the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the U.S. collecting and processing more than 40 percent of the blood supply and distributing it to more than 3,000 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Providing life-saving blood and blood products to patients is a key component of the Red Cross mission to help people in times of emergency and disasters.

The American Society of Civil Engineers exists to provide essential value to its members and partners, advance civil engineering and serve the public good.
