Students and employees at West Virginia University have a chance to ski in the same location as the 1932 and 1980 U.S. Winter Olympics.

WVU will be taking a group of students, faculty, staff and families to Lake Placid, N.Y. Jan. 2-8 for the Adirondacks Winter Adventure.

“We have done this trip for the past couple of years and everyone has had a great time,” said Brett Hagerty, program coordinator for WVU’s Outdoor Recreation Center. “It is a great opportunity to experience the Adirondack Mountains and visit an area that is a true destination for all winter sports.”

The trip includes downhill skiing on Whiteface and Gore Mountain, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and visits to the town of Lake Placid.

The trip costs $645 and includes lodging in a hostel, transportation, area passes, gear, instruction and food.

To register, stop by the Outdoor Recreation Center in the free zone of the WVU Student Recreation Center.

The registration deadline is Dec. 1.
