West Virginia University senior Lindsay Paulin is one of 30 students selected to attend a national conference on risk management.

Paulin, of Morgantown, will attend the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.’s annual conference as part of the Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program. The conference will be held in Boston April 25-29.

Paulin, who is majoring in finance, has worked in the WVU Risk Management Office since April of 2009, and she plans to pursue a career in risk management and insurance after graduation.

“Lindsay is a dedicated, dependable and tireless employee with exceptional time management skills. Her work experience, along with her participation in the Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program will provide a wonderful head start toward her pursuit of a career upon graduation,” said Mike Gansor, risk manager at WVU and Paulin’s supervisor.

As a student worker at WVU’s Risk Management Office, Paulin assists with daily operations including insurance claims administration, insurance record maintenance and upkeep and correspondence with faculty and staff. She frequently works with outside insurance company personnel and staff with the West Virginia Board of Risk and Insurance Management.

The Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program honors the late Anita Benedetti, former deputy director of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. and president of the Spencer Educational Foundation, Inc.

Since 1978, the program has sponsored funding for students to attend the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.’s annual conference.
