The West Virginia University Young Democrats are hosting a fundraiser concert at 123 Pleasant Street on Thursday, March 25 at 9 p.m.

The annual fundraiser will be unique this year, as the group will be celebrating the passage of the federal health care reform bill. Contributions will be used to carry out club activities, including service projects, event planning, political advocacy and special trips.

Admission to the concert costs $5. Musical acts will include “Gary the International DJ,” “The Hide and Seek Effect” and the “Emperors.”

“Gary the International DJ” will play a mix of music including Latino, hip hop, Persian and Bollywood hits.

“The Hide and Seek Effect” is a piano pop/rock band, similar to “Jack’s Mannequin” and former local band “The Argument.”

The “Emperors” play rock influenced by folk and blues.
