The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration recently initiated a National Emphasis Program on record-keeping to promote the accuracy of injury and illness data recorded by employers.

The record-keeping NEP involves inspecting occupational injury and illness records prepared by businesses and enforcing regulatory requirements when employers who fall under OSHA’s jurisdiction are found to be under-recording injuries and illnesses.

West Virginia University Safety and Health Extension will be offering the OSHA #7845 class, “Recordkeeping Rule Seminar” in Morgantown on April 27, July 27, Oct. 29 and Dec. 1.

This four-hour class is designed to assist employers in identifying and fulfilling their responsibilities for posting certain records, maintaining records of illnesses and injuries and reporting specific cases to OSHA.

Those who may want to attend include people responsible for identifying OSHA requirements for recordkeeping including posting, reporting and completing OSHA forms 300, 300A and 301.

Seating is limited and preregistration is required.

Tuition per person is $150.00. Customized group training sessions are also available on a contractual basis for employers wishing to train their workforce.
