Moms' Turn to Learn

March 5th, 2010

Many moms spend so much time taking care of their children and households that they sometimes forget to take care of themselves.

Some moms leave the workforce to raise children and find it difficult to return to the competitive job market when their kids have grown.

On Saturday, March 13, West Virginia University will make sure that moms get the attention they need with the event “Moms’ Turn to Learn,” from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Morgantown Mall Commons.

This is an event for non-traditional students to get the information they need about how to enhance their career opportunities through furthering their education.

Exhibitors will be available to discuss the advantages of having different degrees, how to get college credit for life experience and any financial aid opportunities that may be available.

The event is sponsored by the WVU Center for Women’s Studies, the WVU Council for Women’s Concerns and the President’s Office for Social Justice.

Financial backing for the event was provided by WVU Foundations’ Alma and Claude Rowe Fund for Excellence through Equity.
