In anticipation of severe weather, West Virginia University officials will dismiss all classes at 1 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 5). Any Saturday classes will also be canceled. The University will remain open.

All classes will resume Monday, unless weather conditions dictate otherwise.

Students and employees should use good judgment when traveling in inclement weather, said Narvel Weese, vice president for administration and finance.

The WVU Libraries and Student Recreation Center will remain open, and the Personal Rapid Transit and/or buses will be operating.

Employees are to report to work as scheduled or requested. If weather conditions prevent employees from getting to work or getting to work on time, they should notify their supervisor as soon as possible and prior to the start of the shift.

Supervisors are asked to work with employees who feel they need to leave work early due to the weather conditions. Employees who do not work their full scheduled shift may take annual leave, compensatory time off, or at the supervisor’s discretion, may be permitted to make up those hours. Any questions about scheduling issues should be addressed to an employee’s supervisor.

Employees with questions can call 304-276-0729.

WVU anticipates a normal opening on Monday (Feb. 8) but stay tuned to local broadcast stations and WVU Web sites (www.wvu.edu, http://wvutoday.wvu.edu , www.mix.wvu.edu) for the latest information.
