It will be business as usual for West Virginia University Sunday (Dec. 20) as the University reopens at 10 a.m. following Saturday’s closure due to a winter snow storm and declared state of emergency.

While students are off until Jan. 11, WVU offices and facilities remain open on their regular schedules except for scheduled holidays: noon, Dec. 23 through Dec. 28 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1.

Employees are reminded to use good judgment before venturing out based on road and weather conditions in their area. They should also contact appropriate supervisors if delayed or unable to work.

Students whose finals were interrupted Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 should email the instructor directly to request information about course completion.

Students are expected to vacate residence halls and board buses to neighboring states today, as announced. The women’s basketball game with Fresno State, originally set for Saturday, was played today at 10 a.m.

Also, Mountaineer Parents Club buses which had been scheduled to depart Saturday for Hagerstown, MD; Allentown, PA; Philadelphia, PA; and Seacucus, NJ will leave Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the Mountainlair and 2 p.m. from the Evansdale Residential Complex. All buses return to Morgantown on Sunday, Jan. 10 around 6 p.m.

Vice President for Administration and Finance Narvel Weese thanked essential personnel who worked this weekend despite the closing—roads and grounds, police, dining and housing services, transportation, Parents Club, communications units and others.
