The West Virginia University football team is Gator Bowl bound, and alumni and friends will have an opportunity to travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the New Year’s Day bowl.

The WVU Alumni Association, Mountaineer Athletic Club and the WVU Foundation are offering several convenient travel options for alumni and fans planning to attend the game through WVU Sports Travel (http://www.wvusportstravel.com). Available packages will include a deluxe charter, deluxe land, economy land and game day charter.

The deluxe charter package will leave from the North Central Regional Airport in Clarksburg the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 30, and return late Friday, Jan. 1, immediately following the game. This package includes round trip air transportation, appropriate in-flight services, round trip airport/hotel transfers and baggage handling, hotel accommodations at the Hyatt Regency in Jacksonville, pre-registration of hotel rooms, round trip game transfers, the official Gator Bowl Patch, and more.

Fans can also take advantage of a deluxe land or economy land package, arriving on Thursday, December 31, and departing on Saturday, Jan. 2. The deluxe land package includes all the amenities offered in the deluxe charter package exclusive of air transportation, transfers and baggage handling. The economy land package includes two-nights lodging at the Holiday Inn Airport and round trip game transfers.

The game day charter will leave from the North Central Regional Airport in Clarksburg on the morning of Friday, Jan. 1, and return late that evening, immediately following the game. That package includes round trip air transportation, appropriate in-flight services, round trip airport/game transfers and the official Gator Bowl Patch.

Individuals will have the option to add a reserved seat game ticket to any of the above mentioned packages.

The Hyatt Regency, on the Jacksonville waterfront, will serve as the official headquarters of the Alumni Association. WVU Sports Travel and alumni officials will serve as travel hosts for the length of the trip and will staff a hospitality desk at the Hyatt.

It is anticipated that these packages may sell quickly. Alumni, friends and fans are encouraged to register for bowl packages by visiting http://wvusportstravel.com or by calling 1-888-373-5067.

The times and location for WVU’s popular Mountaineer Connection fan experience and other WVU bowl-related activities will be announced later this week.

The Mountaineers officially accepted the bid to the Gator Bowl following a win over Rutgers on Saturday (Dec. 5). The game will be televised on CBS. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
