The WVU Symphonic Band will present a concert at the Creative Arts Center, Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.

Conductors include John Hendricks, III, Dearl J. Drury, Christopher J. Nichter and Allen P. Health.

Works on the program will be: “Helios” by Jan Van der Roost; “Alleluia” by Randall Thompson, transcribed by Lewis Buckley; “Peterloo Overture” by Malcolm Arnold, arranged by Charles Sayre; “Third Suite” by Robert Jager, “An American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli, and “Suite of Old American Dances” by Robert Russell Bennett.

The Symphonic Band is a 60-member ensemble open to both music and non-music majors. Membership is through audition and the students learn and perform standard and modern concert literature.
