The West Virginia University Mountaineer Maniacs are hosting a Coaches vs. Cancer fundraising dinner to help men’s basketball Coach Bob Huggins raise money for the American Cancer Society.

The dinner will be at Touchdown Terrace at Milan Puskar Stadium Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be $40 per person. To buy tickets, call the Mountaineer Maniacs at 304-293-8208 or stop by their office in the Mountainlair Student Organizations Services wing weekdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Those interested can also e-mail maniacs@mail.wvu.edu.

There are a limited number of tickets available. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.

At the dinner, there will be many giveaways and raffle prizes. Huggins will be speaking and West Virginia Radio’s Tony Caridi will act as the master of ceremonies.

“This is going to be a wonderful night out with some of the biggest names in Mountaineer sports,” said Cassie Werner, executive director of the Mountaineer Maniacs. “Come have dinner with your favorite hometown coach and help support a great cause.”

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

The Mountaineer Maniacs have partnered with Huggins in the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative. Huggins has already raised $50,000 for the American Cancer Society’s efforts, and the Mountaineer Maniacs are hoping to raise an additional $5,000.
