The Laureate Wind Quintet, one of the premiere chamber ensembles in residence at WVU, will present a recital at the Creative Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A). The event is free and open to the public.

Faculty members performing include Francesca Arnone, flute; Cynthia Anderson, oboe; John Weigand, clarinet; Lynn Hilemann, bassoon; and Virginia Thompson, horn.

Joining them will be Micahel Ibrahim, assistant professor of saxophone.

The concert features an interesting variety of pieces, primarily by American composers: “Suite No. 2” from the chamber opera “Razumov,” by Greg Bartholomew; Giulio Briccialdi’s “Potpourri Fantastico” on themes from Rossini’s “Barber of Seville”; Valerie Coleman’s “Afro-Cuban Concerto,” and Leonard Bernstein’s “Three Dance Episodes” from “On The Town,” arranged by oboist Cynthia Anderson and featuring Ibrahim on saxophone.
