The City of Morgantown’s Housing Advisory Committee and the WVU Office of Student Life are holding a Housing Forum on Monday, October 5, 2009, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Presenters include the Morgantown Fire Department, Morgantown Police Department, City Code Enforcement, Solid Waste Authority, the WVU Student Government Association, and the WVU Student Legal Services and Off-Campus Housing offices.

Each organization will make a 10- to 15-minute informative presentation about its functions, as well as the city ordinances that affect how each organization interacts with Morgantown’s student-dominated rental population and the possible consequences of disobeying these ordinances. After each presentation, attendees are invited to participate in a question-and-answer session.

The event is free to all. Students are especially encouraged to attend, as well as concerned citizens of Morgantown, Monongalia County and the surrounding areas. This informative forum is essential for anyone currently living in or considering living in rental housing within city limits.
