The All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday to co-headline at WVU Coliseum on Nov. 4 with special guest Anberlin
Rock bands The All-American Rejects and Taking Back Sunday are set to take the West Virginia University Coliseum stage for a co-headlining concert on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The bands will also share the stage with alternative rock band Anberlin. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. and may be purchased at the Mountainlair Box Office, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW.
The All-American Rejects catapulted into the mainstream music world behind the success of its record “Move Along,” which featured the smash-hits “Dirty Little Secret” and “It Ends Tonight.” The title track to the record earned the band a 2006 MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video, along with additional nominations. The band’s new record “When the World Comes Down” spawned the hit “Gives You Hell,” which reached No. 1 on various Billboard charts, as well as “I Wanna” and “The Wind Blows.”
Although Taking Back Sunday has been recording records since 2002, the band didn’t gain nationwide success until 2006’s major label debut “Louder Now.” The record gave the band its most successful singles, including “MakeDamnSure” – a song that Rolling Stone magazine ranked in their “100 Best Songs of 2006” compilation. The new record, “New Again,” debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and includes the single “Sink into Me.”
Anberlin gained a loyal following through its live shows and music offerings on the social networking site MySpace, while promoting its first two records “Blueprints for the Black Market” and “Never Take Friendship Personal.” In 2008, the band released its first major label record, “New Surrenders,” which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 13 and placed No. 5 on the Top Current Rock chart. The first single, “The Feel Good Drag” hit No. 1 on the Alternative Charts.
Tickets, which range in price from $27 to $37, depending on seat location, go on sale Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. and may be purchased at the Mountainlair Box Office, ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-SHOW or 800-745-3000.
