West Virginia University’s Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity will hold a bell-ringing ceremony Friday (Sept. 4) in remembrance of six students who died over the summer.

The service will begin at noon at Oglebay Plaza on WVU’s Downtown Campus.

The students being honored are:

• Marie Kunzi Duff, a journalism student from Westover who died on May 8
• Adrian Rogers, a pre-international studies student from Buckhannon who died on May 14
• Timothy McGowan, an incoming freshman pre-English major from Nashville, Tenn. who died on May 19
• Eugene Hajduk, a freshman pre-management major from Caldwell, N.J. who died July 16
• Benjamin Davison, a sophomore pre-nursing major from Winchester, Va. who died on July 30
• Chad Friend, a sophomore child development and family studies major from Parkersburg who died on Aug. 6.

Family, friends and members of the University community are welcome to attend Friday’s ceremony. Individuals who would like to speak should contact Lauren Lagana, memorial bell-ringing chair, at 304-993-7254.
