West Virginia University Search Committee Chair CurtisHankBarnette today (July 24) announced dates and locations for campus visits and forums for Finalist Candidates for the Chancellor for WVU Health Sciences , including Aug. 2-3, Aug. 4-5 and Aug. 9-10.


Dates for open Forums during those visits are set for Monday, Aug. 3; Wednesday, Aug. 5; and Monday, Aug. 10. Time and locations for these sessions are:


-Aug. 3, 5, 10Open Forum at Health Sciences, Patteson Auditorium, Noon-1 p.m.


-Aug. 3, 5, 10Open Forum for Campus and Community, Erickson Alumni Center, 4 p.m.


The Forums on these dates will be available via video or audio conference to the Charleston and Eastern Division Health Sciences Center campuses.


The Search Committee is pleased to report that highly qualified Finalist Candidates are continuing through the search process and will visit Morgantown in early August,Barnette said.The Committee looks forward to continued discussions with them and encourages health sciences and hospital faculty, physicians, clinicians, health care providers, staff and studentsalong with general faculty and staff, students, alumni, community members and othersto meet and talk with them as well.


Barnette said names, curricula vitae and other information will be posted online at http://hscchancellorsearch.wvu.edu/ about a week prior to each Candidates visit.


In addition to the public Forums, each Finalist will meet with President Jim Clements , the Search Committee, WVU health care leadership, WVU health sciences administrators, deans and chairs, and WVU s senior officers, deans and others during their campus visits.


Comments will be solicited via paper and online forms as well as direct e-mail from individuals who participate in the search process by interviewing candidates, attending forums and/or reviewing the candidatescredentials.


Dr. Clements expects to select a new Chancellor after all Candidates have been to campus and the review of all information regarding the candidates and the search process has been completed.


The position of vice president for health sciences has been held on an interim basis by Fred R. Butcher, Ph.D.
