MORGANTOWN , W.Va.James P. Clements, who assumes the West Virginia University presidency today, announced that he has asked interim Chief of Staff Jay Cole to extend his service in this roleand Cole has agreed.

Ive been impressed with Jay throughout the transition and his work and contributions under Dr. Magraths leadership were stellar,Dr. Clements said,especially his state and national perspective on higher education issues. Those will be invaluable to continuing the stability and momentum WVU is enjoying.

There is no set timeline for that role.
