MORGANTOWN , W.Va.The West Virginia University Alumni Association s annual Goldand Blue Weekend is returning to Morgantown. Alumni and friends will descend upon the scenic foothills of the Allegheny Mountains at Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa on July 30-31 as a part of theseventh annual Goldand Blue Weekend.


The association hosts the event each year for alumni and friends of WVU . The weekend will kick off with a sponsorsreception on Thursday followed by the 67th annual WVU Alumni Association Golf Tournamentone of the longest running golf tournaments in the stateon Friday.

The golf tournament is open to the first 120 golfers and will be held at the Lakeview course. The cost is $150 per golfer and includes greens and cart fees, lunch, dinner, door prizes and more. Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Marmaduke H. Dent Society , which provides funds for enhancement of alumni facilities and programming.


Steve Douglas, president and CEO of the WVU Alumni Association, encourages all alumni and friends to come and enjoy this event.


Gold and Blue Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for alumni and friends to get together, reminisce and enjoy the beautiful sights and activities at Lakeview,Douglas said.We hope everyone will come out to support this great event and reconnect with their fellow Mountaineers.

The Alumni Association is also hosting the Goldand Blue Online Auction . Alumni and friends can bid on numerous items including a life-sized autographed Bob Huggins cutout, items autographed by Brad Paisley and Jerry West and more. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Loyalty Permanent Endowment Fund of the WVU Alumni Association which provides more than 300 scholarships each year to deserving students.
