MORGANTOWN , W.Va.The West Virginia University Alumni Association is hitting the road with the Mountaineer football team this fall and alumni and friends are invited along for the ride.


Through the official WVU travel program, WVU Sports Travel, the Alumni Association and the Mountaineer Athletic Club are offering travel packages for fans who want to cheer on the Mountaineers as they visit opponents such as Auburn, South Florida, Rutgers and Cincinnati.


Fans traveling to Auburn for the game on September 19 can choose a two-night land package at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Hotel and Conference Center at Grand National, which will serve as the official WVU fan hotel. The following amenities will be included: deluxe accommodations for two nights, shuttle service on Friday and Saturday from the hotel to downtown Auburn (depending on game time), round-trip game day transfers from the Auburn Marriott to Jordan-Hare Stadium, an exclusive Mountaineer pre-game event and more.


There will also be a charter flight available on Auburn game day. This package includes a round-trip, non-stop flight from Clarksburg, W.Va., to Columbus, Ga., complete with on-board beverages, round-trip game day motor coach transfers from the airport to the stadium with snacks and refreshments, an exclusive Mountaineer pre-game event, and other amenities. Immediately after the game, guests will board a bus to the airport for a return flight to Clarksburg.


On October 30, the Mountaineers will travel to Tampa for a Friday night game against conference foe, South Florida. Fans can join fellow Mountaineers on a game day charter for the big matchup. This package offers round-trip, non-stop charter air transportation from Clarksburg to Tampa, Fla. and on-board beverages. After arrival in Tampa, guests will board a deluxe motor coach, which will take them to a pre-game event, and then to Raymond James Stadium for the game. Alumni and friends will board the bus back to the airport for a return flight to Clarksburg immediately following the game.


In addition, WVU Sports Travel will offer one-night hotel accommodations for several of the away games including South Florida, Cincinnati, and Rutgers.
