Rising country star Jake Owen will open for country icon Alan Jackson at the West Virginia University Coliseum on April 25. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Limited tickets remain.
Jake Owens career has taken off since the release of his 2006 debut album”StartinWith Me.”The records title track peaked at No. 6 on Billboards Hot Country Songs chart. He soon began touring with top country acts, including Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Brooks and Dunn.
Owens cover ofLife in a Northern Town,a collaboration with tour mates Sugarland and Little Big Town, garnered unexpected success in 2008, including his first couple nominations for both the Country Music Awards and the Grammy Awards.
In 2009, the Academy of Country Music awarded him the title of Top New Male Vocalist, which also nominates him for the Top New Artist award at the ACMA ceremony in early April.
Owens sophomore album”Easy Does It,”released in February, debuted at No. 2 on Billboards Top Country Albums chart and its first single,Dont Think I Cant Love You,landed Owen in country musics Top 10.
