In a special meeting Monday night (Jan. 26), West Virginia Universitys Presidential Search Committee passed a motion to extend invitations to two additional candidates for interviews.

At its last session on Jan. 17, the committee agreed on 14 candidates to invite for off-campus interviews.

On receipt of additional information about several candidates, the panel decided to extend invitations to two others.

We are heartened by the high interest in West Virginia University and the exceptional candidates for the position of president,Chairman Gene Budig said.The committee has continued to review candidates and unanimously passed a motion to extend invitations for interviews to two individuals.

In accordance with the Higher Education Policy Commission rules, the dates and locations of interviews will not be announced.
