West Virginia University officials have received Board of Governors member Parry Petroplusresignation from the 16-member panel.

We want to thank Parry for his advice and counsel over the years,said Chairwoman Carolyn Long, speaking on behalf of the BOG .He has been a valuable member of this governing board since 2002, and we thank him for his leadership and for his service.

Interim President Peter Magrath echoed Longs sentiments, saying,Parry Petroplus is a respected businessman and community leader who cares very much for this University. He has been a valuable member of this Board, and I feel certain he will continue to be an advocate for WVU in the years ahead.

Petroplusterm would have expired in June 2009. He joined the BOG in May 2002, replacing Cathy Armstrong, who resigned.
