With the Mountaineers North Carolina bound, West Virginia University alumni and friends have an opportunity to head south to cheer the team to another bowl victory and stay with other fans at official WVU Alumni Association hotels.

WVU will face the University of North Carolina in the 2008 Meineke Car Care Bowl Dec. 27 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The association, in coordination with the Mountaineer Athletic Club, is offering two economical travel options for alumni and fans staying in Charlotte for the bowl through http://www.wvusportstravel.com/ .

The first option includes a two-night stay at the Westin Hotel (up to four-person occupancy) and a souvenir item. Alumni and friends will check in Dec. 26 and leave Dec. 28. The cost for this option is $585 per room.

Fans also can choose a two-night stay at the Crowne Plaza (up to four-person occupancy), checking in Dec. 26 and leaving Dec. 28. The cost for this option is $485 per room.

Both hotels are conveniently located in the center of the city and provide access to various activities, including shopping and restaurants.

In addition, alumni and friends taking advantage of the associations travel options will have the choice to add game tickets and a pregame brunch for an added charge.
