The remaining shows of the 2008-09 University Arts Series season will go on sale Monday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m.

The nine-event series includes performances by Kenny G, Bryan Adams, Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby, Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt and Mary Wilson of The Supremes. The University Arts Series offers the national tours ofSweeney Todd,The Wizard of OzandThe Rat Pack is Back: The Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey&Dean.

The series opens Dec. 8 with The Moscow Ballets Great Russian Nutcracker, just in time for the holidays. Acclaimed for its exquisite dancing and spectacular sets and costumes, Anatoly Emelianovs Great Russian Nutcracker has been hailed by critics asflawless,breathtakinganddazzling.

The performance promises to be a holiday treat for the entire family. Ticket prices are $45, $40 and $35, depending on seat location, and are $30 for WVU students with a valid Mountaineer card. Children under 12 can purchase tickets for $25.

Grammy winner and multiplatinum artist Kenny G will bring an intimate set to the Creative Arts Center on Dec. 12. Kenny G has become the worlds most renowned saxophonist, due in part to his popular releaseBreathless,the No. 1-selling instrumental album in history. Rock icon Bryan Adams ushers in 2009 on Jan. 13 with his distinctive vocals and blue-collar songwriting skill. Adamscareer spans more than 20 years and has produced two Grammys, numerous Academy Award nominations and an American Music Award. January also promises a quintessential bluegrass-rock collaboration when multi-instrumentalist Ricky Skaggs and genre-bending pianist Bruce Hornsby take to the CAC stage Jan. 15. Skaggswhose songsCajun Moon,Heartbroke,andCountry Boydefined a generationhas long been bluegrass musics official ambassador. Two legendary songwriting talents collide Feb. 10 when Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt give a captivating acoustic performance of blues, country, folk and rock. This promises to be a one-of-a-kind event. The national tour ofSweeney Toddstops at the CAC Feb. 11. This musical has been hailed by the Wall Street Journal asan event theatergoers will be talking about for years.The production is recommended for mature audiences. Mary Wilson, a founding member of The Supremes, will take the CAC stage Feb. 24. It was Wilsons vision of musical stardom that inspired her to co-found, with friends Diana Ross and Florence Ballard, the most successful female singing group of all time. Ticket prices are $40, $35 and $30, depending on seat location, and are $25 for WVU students with a valid Mountaineer card.

There truly is no place like home as the greatest family musical of all time,The Wizard of Oz,makes its way into town for two performances March 6 and 7. With breathtaking special effects, dazzling choreography and classic songs, the national tour ofThe Wizard of Ozis a spectacular celebration of the iconic 1939 MGM film. Performances are set for 8 p.m. March 6 and 3 p.m. March 7. Ticket prices are $40, $38 and $30, depending on seat location, and $25 for WVU students with a valid Mountaineer card. Children under 12 can purchase tickets for $25.
