Look for projects on everything from new types of solar- and wind-powered batteries to an alert system for hunters at West Virginia Universitys Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Senior Design Fair Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The event will take place from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the ground floor lobbies of the Engineering Sciences and Mineral Resources buildings on WVU s Evansdale Campus.
During the annual fair, seniors in the department will display and discuss computer science, electrical engineering and biometrics projects theyve been working on this fall, including controls for a hydrogen engine and a biometric system for resort management.
This event provides our students with the opportunity to conceive, design and build innovative systems, and to present them to their peers, said Ramana Reddy, professor of computer science and electrical engineering and event coordinator. The students are exposed to real-world scenarios and gain valuable experience.
Students and faculty will view the projects on display and cast their votes for the best. The event is free and open to the public.
