The Stansbury Fitness and Wellness Center at West Virginia University is offering a four-week lecture series focusing on healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.

The public lectures begin at 6 p.m. each Monday starting Oct. 20. The talks will be about 30 minutes with a question-and-answer session to follow. Healthy snacks will be provided.

Lindsey Eck, a third-year physician assistant student from Shenandoah University, will present the lectures. She has a bachelors degree in kinesiology with a major in exercise science and a minor in nutrition. She is also a certified personal trainer.

Lectures will include information on disease prevalence, health risks, guidelines, diagnosis and treatment. Eck will also share information on the importance of a healthy lifestyle in combating the diseases discussed.
