From caps and gowns to class rings and announcements, West Virginia Universitys One-Stop Shop has seniors covered as they prepare for December graduation.
Threeshoppingevents are planned: the first will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in the Mineral Resources Building atrium on the Evansdale Campus. The others are from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 30-Oct. 1, in the Mountainlair commons on the Downtown Campus.
One-Stop Shop provides one convenient location on each campus, where students can order official University regalia, graduation announcements and class rings and enter a drawing to win a diploma frame or gift certificate, said Sheila Powell with Student Affairs.
Students can also pay their $39 graduation fee by check or online (at the Mountainlair One-Stop Shop event only), get tips on how to write resumes and other job search advice, pick up information on selecting health insurance and transferring records, and sign on with the Alumni Association and Athletic Department to stay connected with WVU and the Mountaineers after graduation.
Other participating departments include Students Accounts, Admissions and Records, the Student Health Service and the Career Services Center.
In addition, students interested in giving back to the University can learn how to contribute to the class gift. Anyone who makes a donation will have his or her name listed on the Class of 2008-09 Mountaineer Mark plaque in Mountaineer Heritage Park.
One-Stop Shop is sponsored by Student Affairs and is part of the Senior Year Experience. To learn more, call 304-293-5811.
