Alumni and friends traveling to watch the Mountaineers in action can stop by one of the pregame events hosted by the West Virginia University Alumni Association and area alumni chapters.

The season is just getting started, and we anticipate a large contingency of Mountaineer fans to come out and support our team,said Stephen L. Douglas, president and chief executive officer of the WVU Alumni Association.Our pregame events are a great venue for alumni and friends to reconnect, make some new friends and show the Mountaineer spirit.

The Alumni Association also announced the Colorado trip and tailgate have sold out.

The WVU -Colorado is a big game for us,Douglas said.We are very fortunate to have loyal fans and alumni all over the nation who are excited about the opportunity to see the Mountaineers in action. Combine the game with the beautiful Boulder area, and it is easy to see why this is a sold-out event.

The schedule for away pregame events is as follows:

  • University of ColoradoSept. 18, 3:30-5:30 p.m. (Mountain), at the Boulder Marriott. Note: This event is sold out.
  • University of ConnecticutNov. 1 at the Rentschler Field Tent Area. The cost is $35 per person and includes a heated tent, scrambled eggs, sausage, seasoned breakfast potatoes, flour tortillas, salsa, cheese, coffee, tea, assorted juices and beer. ThePride of West Virginiapep band, Mountaineer mascot and WVU cheerleaders are scheduled to make an appearance.
  • University of LouisvilleNov. 22 at the Parrish House adjacent to Papa Johns Stadium. The cost is $25 per person and includes hamburgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, coleslaw, potato salad, chips, brownies, cookies, soft drinks and two beer tickets. A cash bar will also be available. The Mountaineer mascot and WVU cheerleaders are scheduled to appear.
  • University of PittsburghNov. 28 at the Hard Rock Café at Station Square. The cost of the event is $20 per person and includes chicken wings, assorted mini Chicago-style pizzas, chips, salsa, a cash bar and live band.

All away game events, unless otherwise noted, begin two and half hours prior to kickoff.
