With the probability of high winds and stormy conditions, the West Virginia University Alumni Association has been forced to move its Sept. 6 pregame event from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadiums corporate tent area to the Greenville Convention Center.

Hanna has caused quite a stir in and around the Greenville area, and city officials have indicated that no corporate tents will be allowed around the stadium in advance of the storm, said Steve Douglas, president and chief executive officer of the WVU Alumni Association. We certainly want to ensure the safety of our alumni and friends, so we have moved our event to an indoor location just a short distance from the stadium. The weather certainly wont curb our enthusiasm and support of the Mountaineers.

TheWalk the Planktailgate will run from 2-4 p.m. and feature whole hog barbecue, chicken, hush puppies, drinks and more. The cost for the event is $25 per person.

The center is located at 303 Southwest Greenville Blvd. in Greenville, N.C. Complimentary parking is available at the convention center for alumni and fans attending the tailgate. More on the Net: www.greenvilleconventioncenter.com
