The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an IMG company, has signed an exclusive agency agreement with West Virginia University to manage its trademark licensing program, effective July 1.

The agreement will give WVU a greater ability to protect and market its brand through a comprehensive trademark licensing program customized by CLC , which currently represents nearly 200 collegiate properties. Prior to joining CLC , the Universitys trademark licensing program, which was started in 1986, was managed internally on campus.

The WVU brand is synonymous with excellence in both education and athletics,said Christine Martin, vice president for University Advancement and Marketing at WVU .Our partnership with CLC will provide the school with an elevated presence regionally, as well as nationally, through various marketing and licensing platforms.
