An open house to review revised site plans for West Virginia University’s proposed Child Care Center on University-owned land near Krepps Park is planned from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Erickson Alumni Center.

The University community, along with area citizens and residents of the Suncrest neighborhood, are invited to view an enlarged site plan of the facility and surrounding area which includes entrances, parking, walkways, roadways/traffic patternsand to offer input and observations to WVU administrators and facilities personnel.

On hand will be Vice President for Administration and Finance Narvel Weese, Associate Vice President for Facilities and Services Joe Fisher and Director of Facilities Planning Rob Moyer.

WVU officials announced plans to build a campus child care facility last October, and formed an implementation committee to study and identify a location and to seek information from professional child care organizations about building and operating such a facility. Following much study and numerous site visits, it was recommended in mid-January that WVU -owned land in Evansdale be used for the Center and a Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued for a suitable organization to operate it.
