The West Virginia University Symphonic Band and WVU Concert Band will perform a spring concert April 22.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre in the Creative Arts Center on WVU s Evansdale Campus.

Conductors will include John Hendricks III , Dearl J. Drury, Christopher J. Nichter and graduate students Matthew Smith and Jim Henigin.

During the first half of the show, the Concert Band will performPsalm 42,an English folk song arranged by Samuel R. Hazo;Fanfare and Flourishesby James Curnow;Amazing Gracearranged by William Himes;Ascend(Movement III fromGeorgian Suite) also by Hazo;Finale(fromSymphony No. 3by Gustav Mahler;Duskby Steven Bryant; selections fromA Chorus Lineby Marvin Hamlisch and Edward Kleban;Where the Black Hawk Soarsby Robert W. Smith; andGalopby Dmitri Shostakovich.

Following intermission, the Symphonic Band will performChorale and Alleluiaby Howard Hanson,Divertimentoby Roger Cichy,March: Windsby Clare Grundamn andOf Sailors and Whalesby W. Francis McBeth.
