West Virginia University will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech shooting by dedicating a memorial tree at 11 a.m. Wednesday (April 16) on the grounds of the Student Recreation Center.
The tree, a Shumard oak, will stand on the WVU campus as a living tribute to those lost at Virginia Tech.
Bartlett Tree Experts, which is also furnishing a plaque that will be mounted in stone at the site, has close ties to WVU and Virginia Tech, supporting scholarships and employing alumni of both schools.
