World-renowned violinist Sarah Chang will perform in Morgantown with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a one-night-only performance Monday, Feb. 11, at West Virginia University.

The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre of WVU s Creative Arts Center on the Evansdale Campus. A preconcert lecture, also in the Clay Concert Theatre, will be presented by WQED -FM senior executive producer Jim Cunningham at 6:30 p.m.

This is the final concert of a three-concert series the orchestra performs in Morgantown this year. The program features Chang as soloist and conductor in Antonio VivaldisThe Four Seasons.Lawrence Loh, the resident conductor, will lead the orchestra in Ludwig van BeethovensSymphony No. 7.The concert is sponsored by BB&T Bank.

Chang is recognized throughout the world as one of classical musics most captivating and gifted performers. Considered a prodigy by many, she has matured into a young artist whose musical insight, technical virtuosity and emotional range continue to astonish audiences.

She has appeared in the music capitals of Asia, Europe and the Americas and has collaborated with most major orchestras. Chang has reached an even wider audience through her many television appearances, concert broadcasts and best-selling recordings for EMI Classics.

Single tickets for the concert are $38 for adults and $12 for students. Tickets are only available through the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra box office.
